Ronald Craig

Director, LlB (Auckland)

Ron is a foundation member of the firm. Ron graduated from Auckland University in 1969 and was a principal in another Auckland city legal firm until moving to set up in Ponsonby Road in 1996 with Shale Chambers. Ron practises in similar areas of law to Shale and Andrew, and shares their interest in and expertise in trust law and asset protection as well as acting for a large number of private and commercial clients. Ron is also a trustee in numerous clients' trusts and has a large property and business based clientele.

Shale Chambers

Director, LlB (Auckland)

Shale is a foundation member of the firm. Shale graduated from Auckland University in 1984 and has been a principal of various law firms since 1987. Shale is a property and business lawyer to many individuals and small enterprises. He has a particular interest and expertise in trust law and asset planning, and is trustee of many private and investment trusts. Shale also has senior governance experience in large enterprises as a former director of Vector, and SOEs, NZ Post, and MetService and trustee of Entrust. He has also been an elected member of Auckland Council.

Andrew Jarvis

Director, LlB (Auckland)

Andrew graduated from Auckland University in 1989 and joined Ron and Shale in business in 2005. Andrew has a particular interest in commercial and business related law and enjoys dealing with the sometimes wide ranging interests in Joint Ventures, Franchising and Commercial Leasing arrangements. Andrew’s experience enables him to add value for national and international corporate entities and small to medium business owners alike.

Kevin Pearson

Consultant, LL.B, PG. Dip.Law (Otago)

Kevin is Consultant of the firm and obtained his Law degree and Post Graduate qualifications from Otago University. After initially working in Dunedin and then London, he has practised in commercial and property law in Auckland since 1983. Kevin’s area of legal practice involves advising businesses and private clients on a broad range of commercial and property matters such as completion of due diligence, setting up structures, organising project financing, drafting commercial contracts in simple language and asset planning including Trusts.

Geraldine Whiteford

Senior Solicitor, B.A (Hons), LlB (Hons) (Auckland)

Geraldine was previously with Davenports City Law and is originally from South Otago but is now a keen Aucklander. She completed her law degree at the University of Auckland as a mature student after a career in social and community work and working at the Human Rights Commission. Geraldine specialises in dispute resolution and litigation including civil, family, relationship property, employment, elder law and not-for-profit organisations. If required, she deals with property sales and purchases, wills and related areas.

Jeet Maharaj

Registered Legal Executive, NZILE

Jeet Maharaj is a Registered Legal Executive who specialises in property law and conveyancing and also provides support in trusts, wills, powers of attorney and estates. Jeet joined this office as a Legal Secretary in May, 2006 and subsequently trained and completed her Diploma in Legal Executive through Open Polytechnic and was promoted to a position of a Registered Legal Executive in August 2014.

Jeet enjoys attending religious functions and events and meeting with people of different ethnic groups.

Carol Case

Registered Legal Executive, NZILE

Carol is originally from Durban, South Africa and settled in New Zealand in 2003. Carol worked at Davenports City Law since shortly after arriving in New Zealand and joined the firm with Kevin Pearson and deals primarily with property related transactions including sales and purchases, bank lending, loan repayments, mortgage refinancing, subdivisions, crosslease matters and Property Sharing Agreements. She also works with Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorneys.
